Active Subwoofers

The most popular PA speakers are point source speakers which are made up of multiple or single PA speakers in 2-way or 3-way configurations and used in varying configurations by touring musicians and mobile DJ’s or in fixed installations. Typically, a single point source PA Speaker consists of low frequency and high frequency transducers with a built-in crossover or a subwoofer containing one or more low frequency drivers. PA Systems can be self-powered, often referred to as active (built in amplifiers) or passive PA speakers which require no mains voltage connection, just a signal from a power amplifier often many metres away.
